The 2026 Venice Film Festival returns to the Lido from September 2 to 12, 2026, with the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. Ten days during which Venice once again takes center stage on the international scene, featuring major premieres, movie stars, red carpets, and events for film enthusiasts.
Good to know
Under the direction of Alberto Barbera, the Festival once again offers a rich selection of films in its main sections this year, including Venice 83, Orizzonti, and Out of Competition.
Among the most anticipated events are masterclasses featuring international stars such as George Clooney, Ellen Burstyn, Luc Besson, and Luca Guadagnino, scheduled to take place on the Lido from September 2 to 12.
There will also be a strong focus on new technologies with Venice Immersive, the section dedicated to XR experiences, virtual reality, and mixed reality.

Lido di Venezia: Cinema, Sea and Glamour
During the 2026 Venice Film Festival, the Lido becomes the true heart of the festival. It is here that you’ll find the Palazzo del Cinema, the Palazzo del Casinò, and the famous Lungomare Marconi—the historic setting for the red carpet and encounters with the biggest movie stars.
But the Lido is much more than just the Film Festival. It is an elegant and laid-back island, with beaches, a waterfront promenade, Art Nouveau villas, and expansive green spaces—perfect for alternating days dedicated to cinema with a few hours of beach time and relaxation. The Lido’s beaches are easily accessible and offer a delightful way to discover a different side of Venice.
During the festival, strolling along the Lungomare Marconi means immersing yourself in the glamorous atmosphere of the Film Festival: on one side, the Adriatic Sea; on the other, the historic hotels and landmarks that have shaped the history of international cinema.
