Su e Zo per i Ponti: Solidarity and Discovery
Su e Zo per i Ponti is an event that brings together thousands of people every spring for a walk through the streets of Venice. It is a time for coming together, where friends, families, schools, and sports groups unite in the name of solidarity; the proceeds are donated to charities supporting organizations dedicated to social welfare and education. The values are those of altruism, loyalty, friendship, and caring for the city.
A Story of Brotherhood
The first Su e Zo per i Ponti was organized and founded by Salesian priest Don Dino Alberti and took place in 1975 thanks to the support of various associations. Participation in this walk has always been very high in every edition: on average, there are 8,000 participants each year, not counting the hundreds of volunteers who lend their services on this day.
Celebration and Solidarity
The Su e Zo per i Ponti di Venezia is a true day of celebration. Thanks to the folk groups and their costumes, performances, and music, every participant embraces the diversity of the various cultural horizons found within the Venetian lagoon while also finding a way to identify with its own traditions and culture. Proceeds from the Su e Zo per i Ponti di Venezia have always gone to support organizations dedicated to social welfare and education, with a particular focus on local schools and aid and support missions for the most needy around the world.
