Mercatini di Natale
Celebrating Christmas in Venice
As the magical allure of autumn fades, Venice prepares to embrace the winter holiday season. A visit to our “mercatini di Natale” (christmas markets) is essential for anyone who wants to experience a genuine Venetian experience. The sparkling fairy lights and the scents give an unmistakable warmth of the christian tradition.
Live the festive spirit in different places
The center of this festivity is obviously located on the marvellous Saint Mark square. Here you’ll find a 15 meters tall decorated christmas tree and the most beautiful twinkle lights that makes the piazza even more beautiful than it already is.
In Campo Santo Stefano - just a few minutes by walking from our Hotel- there is a magnificent Christmas Village. Here, the charming wooden chalets showcase treasures that define the Venetian identity like handcrafted ornaments and jewelry of Murano, beautifully painted carnival masks or artisan crafts like the delicate lace working, leather goods and other handmade venetian artistry.
Murano's "Natale di Vetro" (Christmas in Glass): This celebration features stunning glass installations, including a breathtaking, massive glass Christmas tree, along with market stalls selling high-end glass art.
The floating nativity scene in Burano: One of the most evocative Christmas traditions in the lagoon is the floating nativity scene in Burano, consisting of over 60 hand-painted wooden figures reflected in the waters of the canal creating a suggestive experience (open until the 6th of January).
Campo San Polo: Perfect for those who love authenticity and tradition. You can find seasonal products, roasted chestnuts, and Venetian sweets. It is also a lively meeting place, especially in the evening, when the lights make the square even more charming. Also, here you’ll find an ice skating rink so you can live a cool christmas experience to the fullest also enjoying the view of our beautiful city (open until the first days of february!)
“Natale all'Arsenale”: In recent years, the Arsenale has been transformed into a Christmas village with an ice rink, stalls selling handmade products, and shows for adults and children. A charming location that is quieter than the city center, ideal for those seeking an authentic but less crowded Christmas experience.
Mestre's Piazza Ferretto: Easily accessible by bus or train, Mestre hosts the largest market in the metropolitan area, complete with a huge Christmas tree and a wide array of international and local stalls.

Christmas concerts in Venice
At Christmas, Venice vibrates with music. Every year, the city's churches, theaters, and historic buildings offer a calendar of Christmas concerts ranging from traditional carols to Baroque operas. The most eagerly awaited event is at the Teatro La Fenice, where the famous Christmas and New Year's Eve Concert is held, broadcast on television and conducted by prestigious maestros. You can also visit the Church of San Vidal - just a few minutes by walking from our Hotel - where concerts by the Interpreti Veneziani ensemble are held, featuring music by Vivaldi and Corelli; or you can choose to go to the Church of La Pietà, the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro, which both give the opportunity to listen to baroque and classical music.
