		AMERICA'S CUP IN VENICE, May 12 to 20 2012 \| The Race Village opens to the public May 12 with two fields of Race, one in front of at the Bacino San Marco, nearby Hotel Ala, and the other in the open sea, in front of Lido. Eleven teams in the race, composed of the best sailors in the world who will compete for the world's oldest sporting trophy: the America's Cup dates back to 1851. Second stage in Venice, 13 to 21 April 2013.



		VOGALONGA \| 27 May 2012 This celebration, born in the ‘90 thanks to some Venicians to remember the problem of waves’ movement, it's a rowing run to the discovery of the lagoon and its hidden landscapes. The 38th edition of Vogalonga will be on 27th May 2012. It's a 30 Km competition between different kind and shapes of boats, open to Venetians and foreigners. It starts near San Marco in front of Ducale Palace, going on between the islands of the lagoon and back in Venice through Cannareggio’s Rio.



		REDENTORE \| JULY 14TH 2012 A phantasmagoric pyrotechnic explosion in the natural mirror of St. Mark’s Basin illuminates the Venetian summer night. The “Redentore” festival is one of the most celebrated and loved by Venetians. Watching the fireworks from along the canals, palace and hotel terraces, or a boats an unforgettable experience, a magical vision that suspends the city in a timeless night.



		HISTORICAL REGATTA \| 2nd September The Historical Regatta takes place every year, the first sunday of september, is one of the most spectacular, picturesque and moving events of Venetian life, capable of both charming the tourists and exciting the venetians. It is celebrate to commemorate the welcome given to Caterina Cornaro, wife of the King of Cyprus, in 1489 after she renounced her throne in favour of Venice. It is a procession of 16th century style boats, with the famous Bucintoro, the boat representing the Serenissima, at its head. Then comes the competition. The spectators participate with shouts of encouragement during the sporting events.



		50 CAMPIELLO LITERATURE AWARD \| September 8 - La Fenice Theater The Campiello Literary Award, one of the most prestigious initiatives of Il Campiello Foundation, aims to promote and spread Italian culture. This year the event is fixed on September 8 at La Fenice Theatre.



		27TH VENICE MARATHON \| OCTOBER 28th 2012 The worldwide-known Venice Marathon is a competition open to everybody, running once a year in the fourth Sunday of October . A total journey of 42 Km through the streets of this beautiful city rich in artistic and historical sites, that starts from Stra till Riva Sette Martiri in Venice, along the Brenta river. The 27th Venice Marathon will take place on the 28th October 2012.



		FESTA DELLA SALUTE \| Every year, the 21 of November Venice celebrates the Madonna della Salute day, one of the most fascinating autumn festivities. This venetian festivity, as the Redentore, is celebrated in memory of a pestilence, which lasted for two years from 1630-31, and the subsequent vow by the Doge to obtain the intercession of the Virgin Mary. Still today every year on the Feast of the Salute Venetians and foreigners alike join in the pilgrimage to the majestic Longhena's basilica, crossing the votive bridge, to give thanks and praise the Virgin Mary to keep them in good health.



		IN PRAISE OF DOUBT \| Till December 2012 From April, Punta della Dogana will show In Praise of Doubt, curated by Caroline Bourgeois, a presentation of historical pieces and new works. Among the twenty artists in the exhibition In Praise of Doubt, almost half of them have never been included in previous exhibitions of the François Pinault Collection.



		THE DALI UNIVERSE \| TILL DECEMBER 31, 2012 The great master Salvador Dalí was dedicated "The Dali Universe," an exhibition with more than 100 works of the Master of Surrealism. We will find collections as yet poorly understood, different aspects of artistic production of the artist as bronze sculptures, drawings on the great themes of literature, objects in glass and set in gold. 		PUNTA DELLA DOGANA \| TILL DECEMBER 31, 2012 The contemporary art center of Punta della Dogana was reopened in 2009 after careful restoration, interior and exterior, faithful to the original structure by the famous architect Tadao Ando. The famous triangular tip of the island of Dorsoduro, facing the San Marco Basin, has been known since the thirteenth century Venice as the Punta della Dogana de Mar A vantage point for excellence, characterized by a low-century building (by Giuseppe Benoni) crowned by a tower topped by the golden ball, golden bronze sphere supported by two atlases, to represent the world.
